ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper has been named the NHL's second star of the week for posting consecutive shutouts.

Kuemper made 16 saves in the opener against Colorado Thursday and stopped 30 stops in the rematch on the road Saturday against the Avalanche. The Wild became only the fifth team in the league in the last 70 years to start a season with back-to-back shutouts. The San Jose Sharks also did that last week.

The NHL named Montreal Canadiens center Tomas Plekanec the first star and Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby the third star.

The Wild made a roster move Monday, placing right wing Stu Bickel on waivers, a sign right wing Justin Fontaine will be ready to play soon. He missed the first two games with a lower-body injury.
