You Can Call Him, ‘Sir Lars Ulrich’ From Now On
Yes, it's true. He is now a Knight. As if his ego needed any more inflating, Lars Ulrich has now officially been Knighted by the Queen of Denmark. Make some room for that head of his... Don't get me wrong, Metallica has always been one of my all-time favorite bands, and with their history they have every right to boast about their successes. He seems to be the leader of the pack in that sense.
The actual event took place on May 26th in his native Denmark. He received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Dannenbrog from Margrethe II, the Queen of Denmark.
Ulrich was born in Denmark in 1963 to tennis pro Torben Ulrich, and he would've gone down the same path if it wasn't for Deep Purple playing a concert in Copenhagen in 1973 that would forever change his career path.
Metallica is currently on a stadium tour of North America, click on this link for more info.
