In an effort to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends, and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal, the Duluth Transit Authority is stepping up again this year.

There are a lot of things to like about Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a time for many to hit the road to see family and friends, with an estimated 48.7 million people traveling 50 miles or more this year, according to AAA. Recently the Mall of America bucked the recent retail trend of being open on Thanksgiving by announcing that they would not be open.  However, they did say that individual stores could decide whether they wanted to be open or not on the holiday.  Skeptics figured the announcement was made to generate good publicity, but that most stores would be open.  The skeptics were wrong.

Remember when Black Friday was a true shopping event?  Then retailers started opening on Thanksgiving, forcing employees to work and ruining many Black Friday traditions.  Today, the Mall Of America made a big announcement that could impact what other retailers decide to do on the holiday.

It's become a yearly tradition that the First United Methodist Church members and students from the College of St. Scholastica join forces and make lots and lots of pies to sell with the proceeds going to CHUM.  It happens this Wednesday, so set a reminder on your phone or put a postie note on your computer to stop by and
