No matter who is impacted by cancer, it's never good.  It's especially difficult to wrap you head around when it happens to a younger person with many years of their life in front of them.

Just recently, Regun, a 15-year-old from the Twin Ports area was diagnosed with a form of aggressive bone cancer called Osteosarcoma.  This rockstar of a fighter has already been through plenty growing up with a traumatic background and was in 14 different foster situations before Shelly and Brent adopted him.

The impact cancer has on a whole family is hard to imagine if you haven't been through it.  It's of course horrible for the individual impacted by it, but the emotional and financial burden on a family can take a toll too.  Personal time off and vacation time to spend with your loved one burns up quickly, and outside support is often needed to bridge the gap.

For Regun and his family, a GoFundMe has been started to help ease the burden.  Remember, any dollar amount you can contribute can be something that makes a huge difference in the fight.

You can read about Regun's whole journey thus far on the CaringBridge site, but most recently a decision was made to amputate his leg.  The surgery went well and while it's part of the effort to battle this cancer, it just adds more to the stress.  There are still more rounds of chemo to go, and the family greatly appreciates anything you can do to help out Regun and his fight.
