For many people they think of Fall and a few things come to mind like leaves changing color and eventually falling, warm drinks, sweatshirts, and of course Halloween. But his year we are all in for a real treat as the Farmers Almanac predicts a Harvest Moon on Friday the 13th which is super appropriate.

"According to Farmers’ Almanac contributing astronomer, Joe Rao, this combination is a once-in-a-20-year occurrence, so your next chance to see one in the U.S. is August 13, 2049."

According to the Farmers Almanac unlike other Full Moons the Harvest Moon is attached to the  autumnal equinox the full moon that falls nearest to the equinox which is September 22 or 23. "The Harvest Moon provides the most light at the time when it’s needed most—to complete the harvest!"

According to the Farmers Almanac Moon Phase Calendar the Moon will be full in our area at  11:35 PM on Friday September 13. So get your cameras ready fro a pretty spectacular showing.
