If you haven't heard by now, Vikings All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson was arrested over the weekend after an an altercation at a Texas nightclub. Since the arrest, Peterson has taken to Twitter in an attempt to clear his name.

The first of his tweets read:

“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” WC

The tweet was a quote from Winston Churchill. The second of his tweets said:

Thank you for waiting for the facts. Truth will surface.

Since then, it has been announced that AP has hired Roger Clemens' old lawyer, Rusty Hardin to help in his defense.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Peterson told his father that the off-duty police officer at the center of the incident was disrespectful and used vulgar language toward Adrian. The Pioneer Press also reports that Peterson's father feels like this is out of character, offering the following quote:

Adrian has a high regard for people in the military and the officers that help protect us...The officer said he pushed him, shoved him, then why is he not charged with assault? Only charged with resisting arrest. Doesn't make sense.

Stay tuned as more details develop.
