EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Adrian Peterson is about to start his final NFL season in his 20s.

He will turn 30 next March, the age at which most running backs start to experience a steep decline in production. The Minnesota Vikings star says getting older "doesn't apply to me."

Peterson spoke on Thursday, the final day of the Vikings' three-day minicamp. He says he is happy with the changes he's seen under new coach Mike Zimmer and is eager to get going in a revamped offense led by coordinator Norv Turner.

He says his ability to come back from a torn ACL to rush for 2,000 yards proves that he shouldn't be held to the same standards as other running backs.

The Vikings will report for training camp on July 24.
