As Michael Beasley’s Contract Ends, He Hopes to Stay: ‘I Love It Here’

Not all that long ago, Michael Beasley was the talk of trade rumors. As the season winds down and Beasley's current contract draws to an end, number 8 is hoping he and the team can make things work for a new deal.

As Beasley concludes his fourth season in the league, questions of performance and durability have fans and those in the Wolves' front office taking a serious look at his value. Injuries kept Beasley out of roughly one third of the games this shortened season. His point production this season is down to 11.6 points per game from his average of 19.2 a season earlier.

With the fast-approaching offseason, Michael wanted to let his love for Minnesota be known, offering the following:

The Wolves currently have an $8.2 million qualifying offer for Beasley, which some would say is high for a player with the production he has shown.

Prior to joining the Timberwolves for the 2010 season, Beasley spent two years with the Miami Heat. While with the Heat, where he averaged 14.4 points per game and 27.3 minutes per game.
