The Ashland County Sheriff's Office is seeking public assistance in locating a missing woman who was reportedly heading to the Mellen Jam Music Festival.

According to WDIO.com, the woman's sister called to report that her sister, 54-year-old Jody Lynn Newberry of Bergland, Michigan left for the music festival last Thursday and had not returned home or contacted family.

The sheriff's office says preliminary information indicates that Newberry became separated from a male companion at around noon on Saturday.

Ashland County Sheriff's Deputies and the Sawyer County Search and Rescue K9 unit conducted a search of festival grounds, which is held on private property, but were unable to locate Newberry.

Jody Lynn Newberry is 5'3" tall and weighs 115 pounds.  She has brown hair and brown eyes, usually wears wire-rimmed glasses, and is missing several teeth.

If you have seen Jody or have any information on her whereabouts, the Ashland County Sheriff's Office can be reached at (715) 685-7640.
