Duluth will be getting a new game as Blacklist Artisan Ales in downtown Duluth will begin hosting ax throwing May 17.

Located at 120 E. Superior Street, the bar will have three ax-throwing lanes that can each fit six throwers. People can book them Thursdays through Sundays after they open, and Blacklist plans on having a league that will start July 1.

I wrote a blog about the dangers of ax throwing in a bar last month and I had heard that the sport or skill game was coming. Is it smart to combine drinking and ax throwing?

Bars have been trying new things with laser shooting (that look like real guns) and golf. A lot of reality group games are making their way to bars as they are looking to get people to come out on the weekdays.

The next thing to come will be virtual bars. According to vrscout.com Jim Beam is setting up Samsung GearVR headsets at 250 bars in 16 U.S. markets like New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Orlando this year that will be used during 750 sampling events. So, it's a matter of time before we see it in the establishments in town.

Sometimes things can go wrong, here is one example.
