When you're diagnosed with cancer, everyone reacts differently. Some people put on a stone face, some people crumble, and others put on their "fight song" and power through it.

That's what Mary Benson is doing for a second time. She is bravely working her way through breast cancer again. Mary has been a fixture in the Duluth community for many years, she is a wife and a mom to three kids. She is now at the end of her chemotherapy sessions, but her battle is not over.

Her friends and family are coming together to put on a benefit for her at Mr. D's Bar & Grill in West Duluth, on Saturday, January 6th from 4-8. A $10.00 donation will get you a spaghetti dinner with fixings. There will be a silent auction, with a variety of items from many different vendors to bid on including a bake sale. All the proceeds will go to Mary's medical care.

There is a need for more volunteers for the night of the event. If you would like to help, please call Julie at 218-269-7194.

If you or someone you know has a business and would like to donate an item for the silent auction, that would be greatly appreciated! Contact Julie at 218-269-7194.
