Bruce Springsteen has re-started his campaign of giving official releases to concerts from his archives. Today, he issued his Nov. 16-17, 1990 shows at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which were benefits for the Christic Institute.

The two concerts are included in one bundle for as little $12.95 in the Live section of his website as well as from digital live music service Nugs.net. These dates are notable for several reasons: They marked his first performances since the end of 1988's Human Rights Now! tour with Sting and Peter Gabriel; he previewed six new songs – three of which surfaced a year and a half later on Human Touch; and it was the first time he had performed without a band since 1972.

During these shows, Springsteen revealed that he had been in therapy to help him deal with longstanding issues with his parents, and he also spoke about becoming a new father. Both concerts closed with the other two acts on the bill, as longtime friends Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt joined him for covers of Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited" and Ry Cooder's "Across the Borderline."

Other vintage Springsteen shows that have received the authorized treatment include dates from the Apollo Theater (2012), Philly's Tower Theater (1975), the Agora in Cleveland (1978), Long Island's Nassau Coliseum (1980), the Brendan Byrne Arena in E. Rutherford, N.J. (1984), the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena (1988) and the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio (2005).
