Bulldogs Nielson Wins Coach of the Year
The Bulldogs had a unbelievable season on and off the field. And the leader of this exceptional squad is Coach Bob Nielson, he was honored this week with coach of the year!
Minnesota Duluth football coach Bob Nielson jokes that he used to be at odds with several of quarterback Chase Vogler’s decisions, but eventually, he just had to trust the talented playmaker to do his own thing.
That trust helped Vogler blossom as a sophomore in leading the Bulldogs to their second national championship in the past three years, and that performance helped Nielson win the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award, announced Monday in Phoenix before a national television audience on CBS College Sports Network.
