Hayley Geftman-Gold, a vice president and senior legal counsel at CBS in New York, was fired Monday after comments she made on Facebook about the victims of the Route 91 Festival shooting in Las Vegas. Following the tragic mass shooting, which has claimed dozens of lives and injured hundreds, the executive shared "unsympathetic" and insensitive views on the shooting and the victims.

Geftman-Gold was quoted on Facebook saying (via The Daily Caller) "I'm not even sympathetic bc country music fans are often republican gun toters." Her conversation with an Erin Fagan Silber offered other commentary, including saying that she had no hope for "Repugs" to "do the right thing" following this shooting after "they didn't do anything when children were murdered"; which appears to be a reference to the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Washington Post reports that CBS fired Geftman-Gold on Monday afternoon, saying that her comments "violated the company’s standards by expressing deeply unacceptable views."
