Pet owners in Cloquet and Scanlon, with proof of residency, will have the opportunity to have their pets microchipped at no cost Saturday, courtesy of the Cloquet Police Department.

According to their press release, Animal Allies Humane Society’s medical team will be on site to provide the microchipping service and create custom tags for 100 pets during this 'Chip and Tag' clinic.

Doing this will help families be reunited with their pets if they were to be separated.  If a pet runs away or gets lost and ends up in a local animal shelter, they could be scanned and the owners information would be instantly provided.

The 'Chip and Tag' clinic is Saturday, October 6th from 9:00 a.m.. - 1:00 p.m. at the Pavillion at Veteran Memorial Park in Cloquet, located at 410 Avenue B.

If you plan on participating in this event, all pets must be leashed or crated and all owners are responsible for picking up waste.
