City Of Duluth Issues Tall Ships Traffic Advisory

The Tall Ships event will begin this week in Duluth with a "Grand Parade of Sail" on Thursday, August 18th. The City of Duluth expects an influx of traffic over the weekend.

If you are expecting to watch the "sail-in" on Thursday, the city suggests that you should park in the DECC, Bayfront, or somewhere downtown and walk to where you can watch. The festival grounds are going to open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The festival runs Thursday, August 18th through Sunday, August 21st. Friday through Sunday, the festival grounds are open to the public from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The City of Duluth cautions that there will be significant amounts of traffic on 5th Avenue West, Railroad Street, Garfield Avenue, and in Canal Park during the events.
