The 2016 election cycle is complete, with results causing another round of divisive social media exchanges as well as public protests across the country.  For Duluth, Election Day meant an increase in voter turnout.

City Clerk, Jeff Cox reports that over 8,100 people voted early or absentee with a total of 48,794 people casting ballots. This is an 80% voter turnout compared to 72% in 2008 and 79% in 2012. Over 7,000 new voter registrations were processed for this election.

Hopefully, in the very near future, the country can heal from all the division and anger and find a path to work together.  As I saw on a social media post today, it's time for citizens to 'Make America Nice Again'.
