National Night out is coming up on Tuesday, August 6 and a trend has been to have a larger gathering at a community meeting place.  The City of Cloquet will again have that option.

The Cloquet Police Department will be hosting a community National Night Out event at Veteran's Park on August 6 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The event is free and will feature free food, fun games, activities including bounce houses and face painting, community participants and live music featuring Northland favorite Whiskey Trail.

Local business donations make this family-friendly event possible.

According to national organizers:

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

If you're neighborhood is hosting an event, you should notify your local police station so that they can try to stop by.  You can also click here to register your event on the national website.
