A popular cookie and frosting combo from the 1990s is coming back!  General Mills has announced they will once again be making Dunkaroos for a new generation to enjoy.

In a story at StarTribune.com, Jeff Caswell, president of snacks at General Mill stated:

"For those who grew up in the '90s, the original cookie-frosting combo represents the taste, color and fun of being a kid during that decade."

The treats were discontinued in 2012 as the public became increasingly mindful of sugar content in foods. In 2017, General Mills suspended production in Canada as well.

Dunkaroos will return this summer in one variety, the vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles combination that was the most requested.

Another change is that Sydney the Kangaroo won't be featured as predominantly on the new packaging, which will still use neon colors that were popular in the 1990s.

Here are a couple of tastes of 90's Dunkaroos nostalgia.
