The DECC will be hosting this new event every Wednesday evening from 4 pm to 7 pm on the Harbor side of the DECC. This will offer a great way  experience the Twin Ports and sailboats as they hold their Wednesday activities.

The first night will be August 4, and the event is free and open to the public. There’s no admission fee but regular parking rates for the DECC lots still apply, which is $5 per vehicle. Organizers instruct participants to enter on Harbor Drive by the harbor in Door G. Food will come from Lincoln Park’s Howard’s Que and can be paired with local beer, There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.

According to a press release, there is one more place to watch sailboats from the bay. You can go to the DECC, or grab a table at Grandma's Saloon for a bird’s eye view as the Duluth Yacht Club sail out under the lift bridge before their races.

If you’re looking for additional options to view the boats, you can also catch the races over by the Portland Malt Shop, sit at the picnic table and watch, or sneak on the right side and watch from the stairs. You can also see along the Lake Walk by the railroad tracks by the Fitgers shopping and eating area. Get a seat at the Boat club and watch from there. That way you can eat and drink and enjoy the boats.
