Did the Subway store in Canal Park close? It looks like it.

I noticed some residents on Facebook talking about the store and how it appears to have closed down out of the blue. Upon further investigation, it appears to be true.

I did a quick drive-by of the location and the signage for the store is completely gone and painted over. The inside appears empty with no traces that a Subway location ever stood there.

I also looked at the "Find A Subway" feature on the chain's website and the location in Canal Park is no longer listed.

This is a bummer for those looking to grab a quick bite in the area while on their lunch break for work or out with friends.

Things are clearly different with COVID-19, prompting Subway to close to dine-in customers and offer takeout and delivery services instead. However, a glance through the window shows the building is empty so this doesn't appear to be a temporary closure.

The good news is there are a bunch of other Subway locations in the Northland to choose from, including one inside the Holiday Center in downtown Duluth and one off of Central Entrance.

There are also several restaurants in the Twin Ports open for takeout and delivery. To see a full list, click here.
