The Douglas County Wisconsin Department of Public Health wants the public to be aware of two upcoming drive thru COVID-19 test events this week. The first will take place in Superior on Wednesday, July 29. The next will be on Thursday July 30 in Solon Springs.

This comes after Douglas County has reported 14 more cases last week of COVID-19. The total cases in Douglas County since the beginning of the pandemic is 89. 71 of the 80 cases have already recovered. Through contact tracing, they have determind that 243 people have been in close contact with a lab confirmed case. Of the 89 cases confirmed, 22 have been from close contact, 21 have been through community spread, 14 from work, 16 from household, 11 from travel, 2 health care acquired, and 3 unknown sources.

They ask that anyone who is experience COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, diarrhea or nausea to get tested. They also would like those people who have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 to also get tested for free. Once again, the Wisconsin National Guard will be assisting with the drive thru testing.

The Superior, Wisconsin testing location will be at the Superior Middle School, 3626 Hammond Avenue. It will take place from 2-8pm on July 29. The Solon Springs testing location will once again be at the Solon Springs Community Center, 11523 S. Business 53. It will run from 9am-5pm on July 30.
