Duluth Elementary School Closing For The Summer Due To Rat Infestation
It has been announced that Congdon Park Elementary School is closing for the summer due to rat infestation.
WDIO is reporting that the school announced the closing on Wednesday, with a local pest control company getting to work to make sure that the infestation is taken care of. The school district mentioned that the company is currently trapping around 5 rats a day.
Dave Spooner, the Duluth School District Facilities Manager was quoted as saying, "We're working to remove them from the burrows created in the hillside and beneath the gym addition before they can get into the building itself,".
It was mentioned that both Congdon KEY Zone and Excel programs are going to be moved to Ordean East Middle School for the summer. Both the school building and the grounds at Congdon Elementary will be closed for the entire summer.
