Duluth Salon Re-Opens With Restrictions
After being closed for almost 3 months due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Language of Hair on London Road finally re-opened it's doors. Fay Kuettel the owner said it was exciting to welcome back customers. Closed since mid March Kuettel said curbside pick up of products was not enough to keep her salon going so she received a PPP loan to help her business and employees.
Language of Hair has set up some parameters to keep staff and customers safe. All the staff and customers must wear masks, plus customers need to call and make reservations, no walk ins will be allowed and customers are asked to wait in their cars before they go in for their appointments.
Kuettel said to KBJR "You know even making phone calls last week clients are super excited to get their hair done, as all of us are used to getting our hair done and it's not something you usually have to wait very long for, and so people are very happy today everybody is happy to be here and happy when they leave."
Due to limited capacity allowed in the store they are scheduling only six employees at a time during shifts. The salon is completely booked through the month of June. I would assume that more salons will follow opening up when they have staff and precautions in place, but things are far from back to normal. As with all these businesses slowly opening it is up to each of us to make sure that we continue to follow protocols so that we do not go backwards with a new surge of the pandemic. I am happy for these businesses to be able to re-open, let's all help to keep them that way.
