As the Minnesota Twins play host to the 2014 MLB All-Star Game next week, two of their own players will serve as representatives for the American League.

This marks Suzuki's first appearance in the All-Star Game, selected by manager ballot as a reserve player for the American League. Going into the final full week before the All-Star break, he's hitting .306 and has 18 doubles along with 34 RBI.

Perkins makes his second straight appearance in the Midsummer Classic, also earning his spot on the AL Team via manager vote.

Also joining the American League in the dugout will be Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, who is serving as part of the AL coaching staff.

The 2014 MLB All-Star Game will be held on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis, with the first pitch slated for about 7 pm. Preceding the game, the annual Home Run Derby will be held on July 14. This will be the first All-Star Game held at Target Field.
