On Monday, April 7, real rock returned to the Northland when Sasquatch 92.1 (WWPE-FM) evolved its format to focus more on new and recent rock hits.

The format evolution filled a void for rock fans in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. There was also hope that more new rock shows would be brought to the area, and now, good news has arrived.

Sasquatch 92.1, along with the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), is proud to announce that real live rock is returning to Duluth in a show that a Grammy Award-winning group will headline.

New Halestorm Tour Is Coming To Duluth

On Saturday, September 27, Sasquatch 92.1 and the DECC proudly present The Neverest Duality Tour at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.

The show will bring Halstorm, one of rock's hardest-working bands, who perform countless sold-out shows every year, to the Northland. Halestorm features lead vocalist and guitarist Lzzy Hale, who is Gibson Guitar's first female brand ambassador, along with drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bassist Josh Smith.

Halestorm was founded in 1997. The lead single "Love Bites (So Do I)" from their second album, The Strange Case Of..., won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013. They also received a Grammy nomination in 2019 for Best Rock Performance for "Uncomfortable."

They will be joined in Duluth by American violinist, dancer, and songwriter Lindsey Stirling, who was a quarter-finalist in Season 5 of America's Got Talent and has since become a YouTube sensation and has filled concert halls worldwide.

Also taking the stage on September 27 in Duluth will be Apocalyptica, the Finnish symphonic metal band from Helsinki. Apopalyptica bills itself as 'one of metal's greatest, most unlikely success stories', and once you see them perform, you'll know why.

I had the chance to see them in Minneapolis about 10 years ago, and it was an incredible experience.
