Here’s What You’ll Find at the Haunted Shack, Opening Scarier Than Ever in Duluth Area
The Haunted Shack is celebrating their 29th season this year, making them the longest running Haunted Attraction in Minnesota. Some would even say they are trailblazers in the haunted industry in the haunting world and they have announced exciting details on the upcoming season.
According to their press release, crews have begun working on this years haunted attraction for over a month, transforming the working farm into the Haunted-Ridge that will provide bigger and better thrills than ever before.
They've added more animatronics and pneumatic props and they are excited to announce they are bringing back the infamous TUNNEL of TERROR, in memory of one of their key staff members who passed away last season.
Logan Stojevich, co-director and technical builder stated, “its been 5 years since we had the Tunnel of Terror up and running and we are dedicating it to our friend Ted Micken and renaming it TEDS TUNNEL OF TERROR. It was a challenge putting it up for we had to add an addition to the building to put it under, footings and more to put it on but we got it done and it runs awesome.”
“The Shack”, as it’s been called since inception, consists of a maze of horrors where "only the bravest souls enter to be taken through a dizzying tour of ghoulish scenes haunted by real actors, pneumatic props, sensory platforms and state-of-the-art light and sound systems."
Also returning is the Haunted Trail. Jeremy Dickerson, the Haunted Trail Director states “This year the Haunted Corn Trail added new twist and turns, more props than ever before and updating some of their high-tech lighting and effects so that it’s ready for the grand opening on Friday October 14th."
The two attractions combine to make The Haunted Ridge, which truly is one-stop shop for all your favorite fall festivities and scares.
They note that because of their partnership with Ru-Ridge, some of the features will include both daytime and nighttime events. For example, during the day you can cruise through the largest corn maze in the northland, covering over 8 acres. There is a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, hay rides, as well as other kids and adult activities.
At night, the venue takes a spooky twist where you will experience the Haunted Shack, Haunted Hayride, Haunted Trail Thru the Corn and the Haunted Maze. Special events will also include kids’ day and a fall fest with vendors and more on October 22nd.
