It has been almost 10 years since Duluth welcomed a cruise ship into the harbor, soon it will be a pretty regular thing during the summer with the new Viking Octantis Cruise Ship sailing the Great Lakes.

The new 672-foot cruise ship can accommodate 378 passengers in her 189 first-class staterooms and is scheduled to arrive in Duluth as part of the 'Great Lakes Collection' cruise, this is a 15-day cruise that starts in Toronto and ends in Duluth, with stops in all five Great Lakes.

Viking Octantis will cruise under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge for the first time on Monday, May 30th, she is scheduled to arrive at the harbor between 6 AM and 7 AM. Once the Octantis arrives, passengers will be transported on tender boats to the customs facility within the DECC.

Once through customs, passengers will board buses to visit area attractions like Glensheen Mansion, the North Shore Scenic Railroad, Great Lakes Aquarium, and more adventurous excursions like a canoe trip on the St. Louis River.

This will be one of nine cruise ship stops in Duluth before September 2022, so if you don't get a chance to see the Octantis this time around, you'll have plenty of opportunities this summer. If you park at the DECC

These Viking cruises are top-notch, and you'll pay top price, the 'Great Lakes Collection' cruise that includes Duluth as a stop starts at nearly $14,000 per person or $28,000 per couple.
