It's the time of year when everyone is getting their bikes out to enjoy warmer weather.  Unfortunately, it also means that bike theft will be on the rise.  If you fall victim, the Duluth Police Department encourages you to report it.

The Duluth Police Department took to their Facebook page to announce that they are getting a lot of abandoned or found bikes turned into the police department.

Most of these bike simply sit and go unclaimed because they were not reported as missing or stolen.  If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having your bike lost or stolen, reporting it as such can help you get it back.

Follow the link below, which will take you to the Duluth Police Department's E-Report Online, where you can report it by including important information such as the make, model, serial number, color, and other distinguishing features.

Duluth Police also recommend you write down the serial number of your bike, which is usually found on the base of the frame near the pedals, and keep it in a safe place.
