With the dangerous cold weather and frightening wind chills already setting in, the United Northern Sportsmen's Club has decided to postpone their ice fishing contest. The annual contest was to take place this Sunday on Island Lake, but due to the cold, the 66th annual contest will take place on February 17th. They made the announcement Thursday on their Facebook page.

The forecast for Sunday at Island Lake calls for an overnight low of -26, and only reaching a high of -4.

This has been a popular contest over the years with $2,000 in cash prizes given away. Here's hoping for a bit warmer weather in February!
