1 Dead After House Explosion near Alexandria
Parkers Prairie, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Authorities in west-central Minnesota are investigating a deadly house explosion.
Home fully engulfed when responders arrived
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says the explosion was reported around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday at a rural property northwest of Parkers Prairie. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, the house was already fully engulfed in flames.
Parkers Prairie is a small town of about 1000 residents located approximately 15 miles north of Alexandria.
Missing person found deceased
One person was reported missing in the aftermath of the explosion. A statement issued by the Sheriff's Office says that person has been located and is deceased.
The name of the victim has not been released.
State Investigators Dispatched to Scene
The fatal incident remains under investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.
