Big Expansion Coming For Essentia Health Clinic In Minnesota

That dedication to serving its communities was again the focus this week when Essentia Health announced a significant expansion to its 7,500-square-foot clinic in Cloquet, Minnesota, which offers family medicine, urgent care, cardiology, women’s health, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurology, lab services, imaging, and radiology.

Essentia Health Announces Expansion For Its Clinic In Cloquet, Minnesota

Essentia Health announced this week that it is doubling the size of its clinic in Cloquet, located at 1413 Highway 33 S. Since opening in 2022, the clinic has been widely used by the community and is quickly outgrowing its current space.

Therefore, Essentia is breaking ground on an approximately 7,500-square-foot expansion this fall that will approximately double the size of the clinic. The space will be used to add 16 exam rooms and greatly expand its family medicine and specialty services.

Essentia also plans to hire additional providers and increase its specialty outreach, including mobile mammograms being made available at the clinic on a routine basis.

Also included in the expansion is the addition of a retail pharmacy with a drive-through, as well as additional parking. All told, the expansion will improve access to expert care for the people in the Cloquet area.

"By doubling the size of our clinic, we’re filling vital gaps in care and ensuring greater access to high-quality, compassionate health care for the patients who entrust us with their health and well-being," said Sam Barney, administrator for Essentia Health.

Plans are to break ground on the expansion this fall, with construction anticipated to take about one year. It's important to note that the clinic will remain open during this time.

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The urgent care at the same address is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
