There's no arguing that gas prices are quite a bit higher than they were earlier this year. If you're looking for a little relief, a prominent gas station chain across Minnesota and Wisconsin is rolling out a pretty notable one-day discount to fill up for a little less.

While the discounts are a little different in Minnesota than they are in Wisconsin (I'll explain in a bit), the opportunity to save with one of Circle K's annual "Fuel Day" events is coming just in time for the Minnesota fishing opener and Mother's Day Weekend. There's also a new twist from previous Fuel Day events for this one.

The discounts will be available at participating Circle K locations as well as remaining Holiday Stationstores (the Minnesota-based chain that is now owned by Circle K).

Here's what to know about this Circle K Fuel Day, and what the savings differences are between Minnesota and Wisconsin store locations.

Minnesota Circle K Fuel Day Discounts & What's New

As has been the case with previous Circle K Fuel Days, customers at participating Minnesota Circle K and Holiday stations will be able to save 40 cents per gallon of gas from 4 pm until 7 pm on May 7, 2026. The discount is automatically applied, so nothing to worry about. Just fill up and get the discount. There's an opportunity to extend that window and get early access to the discount, too!

Something new that I don't remember from previous Fuel Day events is a way to extend that savings window.

If you are part of the Circle K Inner Circle rewards program, you can access the fuel discount starting just after midnight on May 7, all the way until 3 pm, giving you several hours more access than just the 3-hour window non-members get.

Wisconsin Circle K Fuel Day Discounts

State laws and other regulations make this promotion a little different from state to state. While the Minnesota discount is a pretty straightforward discount per gallon, the rules are a little different in Wisconsin.

At Wisconsin Circle K and Holiday locations, drivers can save up to $4.50 with the purchase of at least 3 gallons of gas. If you have a smaller vehicle, you won't really feel the limitation, but if you're getting more than about 11 gallons of gas, your discount is more limited than your opportunity across the border in Minnesota.

The same timeframe (4-7 pm for all customers, with early access for Inner Circle members) still applies in Wisconsin.

There's Also A Charity Component

Along with offering a notable discount, Circle K ties in a charitable component to its Fuel Day events.

A total of 10% of profits on Fuel Day will be donated to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. There will also be an option to round up your purchase to make an additional donation, if you'd like to do so.
