In A Sign Of Spring, Gordy’s Hi-Hat In Cloquet Announces 2026 Opening Plans
As the Twin Ports area deals with some aggressive ice making for difficult travel and causing power outages, a sign of spring just got floated out by a popular seasonal restaurant in the area.
Every year, a lot of people anxiously anticipate the opening of Gordy's Hi-Hat on the northern edge of Cloquet on Highway 33.
The team at Gordy's is having some fun on social media as they get ready for their 2026 season, which they are referring to as their "Six-Seven Season", having a little fun with the meme that was popular with kids last year in relation to the fact that this will mark the business's 67th season serving the public.
The old-school diner has been serving up classic meals that include their iconic burgers and fries, as well as their awesome fish, which has a sizable cult following of its own.

Gordy's, which has been closed since October 5 of last fall, usually opens sometime in March for the season. That will once again be the case for 2026, as the restaurant changed its roadside sign yesterday (March 5) to reflect its opening date for this year, which is Wednesday, March 25.
Gordy's Hi-Hat is a favorite of the Food Network series Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, highlighting the classic burgers and fries, fish, onion rings, chicken, malts, and other goodies you can get on the seasonal restaurant's menu.
Comments on social media after the announcement of their 2026 opening date have included a lot of people sharing how visiting Gordy's is an annual tradition. Someone even commented that they hope to make the trip up from Texas to enjoy some of Gordy's food this summer!
The good news is the wait is almost over for a big sign of springtime arriving in the Northland.
