The Scene at Midnight When Taylor’s Album Hit Minnesota Stores
It’s finally here. The long-awaited 12th studio album from Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl, dropped at midnight and was instantly one of the most talked-about releases of 2025. The buzz was so strong that even before anyone had heard a single note, it was already charting as one of the top albums of the year.

It’s Here: Taylor Swift’s 12th Album Lands in Minnesota
Fans in Minnesota got one of the earliest opportunities to grab the record, thanks to Target. Several locations across the country, including 11 in Minnesota, stayed open until 1 AM to sell the exclusive versions of the album. Swifties lined up for the special “Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer” vinyl or one of three CD versions, both available only through Target.

Duluth Target Joins the Celebration
Target even offered special “Life of a Showgirl” tickets starting at 10 PM that guaranteed fans a vinyl. At the Duluth Target, around 20 people were waiting before 10 PM for their chance at one of the prized tickets. By the time the clock struck midnight, that crowd had grown to roughly 100 people, buzzing with excitement. To keep the party atmosphere going, Starbucks handed out free drink samples to fans waiting in line.
Plenty of Vinyl for Fans
The rollout was smooth, and the Target team kept the process organized as fans grabbed their albums. For those worried about missing out on the exclusive vinyl, there’s no need to panic. I was ticket #13 out of 343 copies, and with most people buying only one, plenty should still be available this weekend in Duluth and across Minnesota.
