JET Technical And Vocational Scholarships Available For MN High School Graduates

JET-Northwest Minnesota Office of Job Training announced great opportunities for students wanting to go to school for technical and vocational training.

There are opportunities for up to $6500 per academic year, plus money for books and other financial support. These are only available for a limited time. Students are asked to fill out all their paperwork and have it in by June 30th.

Some say the so-called "trades" are dying. They have declined in the last few years but there are many good-paying jobs in the "trades". Mike Rowe talks about how many open jobs there are in trades type jobs.  He also talks about how valuable those jobs are and how America has devalued these programs and jobs.

This is a great opportunity for students just out of school to learn a job that you can find a job a little faster than others because there are so many open.

Check the JET website and see if you meet eligibility rules or if you haven't been accepted into the program training yet, you can apply for the help to pursue more training and open up your chances of landing a good job. See some of these rules below.

Here are some of the training programs (with others not listed) that are eligible (but not limited to these) for the JET Scholarships:

• Trades (electrical, welding, etc)
• CDL (truck driving)
• Diesel Mechanic
• Nursing (CNA, LPN, RN)
• Human Services
• Addiction Studies
• Pharmacy Technician
• Laboratory Technician

Here are some of the eligibility rules for students"

• Low income (including public assistance, medical assistance, MN Care, public assistance, or free or reduced lunch.
• Disability includes physical, mental, learning, or emotional.
• Homeless
• Foster children including those aged out of care, kinship guardianship, or adoption.
• Offender/juvenile justice system
• Pregnant or Parenting
