Microsoft announced today that the Xbox will support cross-platform and cross-network play. Basically, Xbox users will be able to play with PS4 and Windows 10 users, if Sony and game makers enable the feature.

According to Chris Charla from Microsoft, "'Rocket League' will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well."

Time will tell if Sony decides to play along with Microsoft, I'm skeptical that they will, but it certainly would be cool to be able to play online with friends no matter what gaming console they use.
