Let's face it, the 2020 Minnesota Vikings season is OVER. So it's time to get young players up to speed and get vets healthy.

NFL.com is reporting that DE Danielle Hunter will have "surgery to clean up a herniated disc in his neck." This surgery will have Hunter sidelined the remainder of the 2020 season.

Hunter started the season on the IR with hopes that he could return, but with the total collapse of the 2020 season and nothing to play for, Hunter and the team clearly decided that now was the time to get the surgery done with.

This news comes on the same day that the team decided to cut ties with DE Yannick Ngakoue, he's off to Baltimore after the Vikings traded him for a third-round pick in 2021 and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2022.

Hunter will join Anthony Barr on the IR list and leaves the Vikings pass rush virtually nonexistent moving forward. Ngakoue led the team with 5 sacks, with him gone, that leaves Ifeadi Odenigbo and Eric Wilson, who have a combined 4.5 sacks this season.

The Vikings have a much-needed week off and will return to play next Sunday, November 1st at noon in Green Bay vs. the 4-1 Packers, Rodgers will certainly enjoy and take advantage of the Vikings lack of pass rush.
