Minnesota Wild Hire Bruce Boudreau as Head Coach
The Minnesota Wild have hired Bruce Boudreau as the new head coach.
Wild GM Chuck Fletcher announced the team had agreed to terms with Boudreau, he has a record of 409-192-80 (.659) in nine seasons as an NHL head coach with the Anaheim Ducks and the Washington Capitals, leading his team to a division title eight times.
Boudreau became the fastest coach in NHL history to reach the 400-win milestone and leads active NHL coaches in win percentage. He is 41-39 in eight trips to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Boudreau was fired as head coach of the Ducks on April 29, just two days after the Ducks' Game 7 loss at home to the Predators. That was his fourth straight Game 7 loss at home.
This is a HUGE hire for the team, he was the top coach available and is someone that will deliver results with the talent on the Wild roster.
