BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Longtime University of Mary football coach Myron Schulz says he's stepping down at the end of the season.

Schulz has been on the Marauders coaching staff for 23 years and is entering his 15th season as the head coach. He plans to become a faculty member in the Bismarck university's business school.

Schulz has compiled a school-record 97 wins and led the program during its transition from the NAIA to the NCAA Division II ranks.

Mary hopes to name a successor shortly after the end of the season.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth competes against Mary in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The two teams will meet in Bismarck, ND, on November 9.
