The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced new programs for women and families to learn outdoor recreational skills.

The newly released 2018 Becoming an Outdoors Woman and Becoming an Outdoors Family catalog offers a nice variety of hands-on learning opportunities where skills can be learned in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

If you're interested in hunting, kayaking, fly-fishing, firearms safety, archery, clay shooting, bird watching, hiking or just about anything involving outdoor adventure, there's a class or retreat for you.

I know as a parent that it can be a challenge to find unique things to do as a family, so it's cool that the Minnesota DNR includes a full catalog of family activities each year.
