I get so excited every time a new restaurant has opens up in the Northland. Honestly, the more the merrier in my eyes.

There has been some recent additions to the area, including a self-pour taproom in Superior, a new coffee shop in Duluth's Lincoln Park area and a new restaurant in downtown Duluth.

We are still anticipating the newest cookie shop to open up off Central Entrance in Duluth. We also can't wait for a popular Mexican restaurant to open up shop in the Lincoln Park area as well.

Let's dive in to the newest restaurant that has officially opened up in Superior. They started construction on the building last year when news hit that Superior was getting a new steak & seafood restaurant and hotel. Wissota Chophouse which has six locations throughout Wisconsin, one in Alabama and one in Arizona. Their newest location is at 1102 Tower Avenue in Superior. The location was once an empty lot:

The chophouse was named after the founder's hometown, Wissota Lake (near Chippewa Falls). According to the website, the newest superior eatery can be described as:

Wissota Chophouse is known for succulent high-end steaks and rich sea food, a classy yet modern atmosphere for gathering and socialization, specials highlighting seasonal favorites, comforting sharables sure to please, innovative a la carte sides, and some of the finest desserts around. A thoughtfully lined up selection of over 20 glasses of wine, 20 beers on tap, beer bottle selection, and a variety of spirits are available and can be enjoyed on the patio.

The chophouse is located on the first floor of the Cobblestone Hotel & Suites. They'll have a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. with 1/2 off tap beer and wines by the glass (of course, some exclusions apply). The hours of the restaurant are:

  • Monday - Thursday: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday - Saturday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Let's get our mouth watering by listing some of the menu items that caught my eye. Looking at appetizers they have everything from Buffalo Fried Alligator, to Nueske's Bacon Slabs, and even a Charcuterie Board. They have some great sounding cuts of meat like an 85 Day Dry Aged Bone-in Ribeye, seafood such as Pan Roasted Chilean Sea Bass, and even a Lobster Bisque. You can check out their full menu here.

If you need more of a reference of where it is, Wissota Chophouse is right next to Tap On Tower.
