There comes a time when you should sit your best players when there is nothing to play for. That time came weeks ago for the Minnesota Vikings, yet they insisted on playing Adrian Peterson, why would they play him? Nothing good would of came from playing AP, and on Saturday Adrian Peterson tore is ACL and MCL, and now wont be ready until late next season.

This could ultimately end Peterson career, yet Wes Welker had a similar injury a few years ago, and Welker is still piling, up stats. If Peterson could be like Welker, then there is nothing to worry right? Wrong. The Vikings have shot themselves in the foot with this one.

Already with holes at Wide Receiver, and Offensive Line, and the Secondary, and the last place the Vikings needed a hole was at Running Back, and now they do. Toby Gerhart has shown some flash recently, but Gerhart is not the same player as AP is.

negative, and this injury will only sideline him for a few games, and AP will return to greatness. But if not, then this could be just another ugly omen in a long line of of ugly omens that have plagued the Vikings in their 50 years of playing in the NFL.(like Gary Andreson missed field goal, Favre interception and the Dome roof collapse).

Only time will tell if AP can recover from this injury, and time will tell if the Vikings can learn from their mistakes, and rebound from this.
