Spirit Mountain announced on their Facebook page that all races today for Snocross have been suspended due to poor visibility.

The message was posted around 3:30 pm. Originally they had planned to end racing early at 5pm with buses leaving at 6. However, as conditions worsened, organizers made the decision to suspend racing.

Snocross at Spirit Mountain is always the first race of the season. In many recent years, the concern has always been if it would be cold enough for artificial snow to hold up. Many years mother nature hasn't brought any snow for the event. It is a little ironic that this year we have the opposite problem. A blizzard that has left over 1,000 people without power, cancelled Bentleyville, and many other events has even stopped a snowmobile race.
