The midsummer retail sales fight is on!

Target announced yesterday that "Target Deal Days" happens July 15th and 16th, the same days that Amazon will do its annual "Prime Day" sales. Target made sure to point out in its release that "no membership required to shop thousands of deals."

Target says that the deals will "include rarely-on-sale, exclusive home, apparel, and toy brands, discounts on hundreds of thousands of items and new deals each day."

The sales will also be featured at target.com with some items being available for pick-up at the Duluth Target store. “This year, we’re giving guests more discounts across even more of our assortment with two days to save on hundreds of thousands of items and offering the best options in retail for delivery and pick up on their terms, including same-day,” said Mark Tritton, Target executive vice president.

I don't think I've ever found a good deal on anything worthwhile during Amazon's Prime Day sales, it's mostly just junk from third-party sellers. I'll be interested to see what stuff Target puts on sale and if other retailers will get into the battle for shoppers distracted by summer fun.

Happy shopping!
