These days, the Northland is no stranger to movie magic. There have been a handful of productions that have filmed in Duluth and on the Iron Range and it looks like it isn't slowing down anytime soon.

You probably know by now that a film called Merry Kiss Cam is set to premiere on Thanksgiving day! The film will premiere on Hulu and was filmed in and around the Duluth area, including several spots in downtown Duluth.

The film stars Katie Lowes and Jesse Bradford, two faces you will definitely recognize from other projects like Scandal and Inventing Anna on Netflix. The film is about two people who meet at a hockey game and fall in love, despite obstacles thrown their way.

The movie was filmed in late spring and early summer. Spots that are going to be seen in the film include Mainstream Fashions for Men, Fitger's Inn, Carmody Irish Pub and more locations in downtown Duluth.

There have also been some productions on the Iron Range, including the pilot for a show called Canusa Street. While we await word on what will come of that project, it seems another one is filming in the area.

The film is called The Fun-Raiser and is also filming in Chisholm, according to WDIO. The movie is an independent film and is about a fancy gala event at a charter school that goes awry and therefore, the gala has to be moved to a local school.

Based on the behind-the-scenes photos from shooting the movie, it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun! The film and television studio behind the film, Lost Forty Studios, has been sharing a bunch of pictures while shooting recently.

As of now, there is no official release date or anything like that but we will keep you updated when one becomes available. It is always fun to see a production filmed in our neck of the woods for a change.

Another project that filmed in the area is called The Hand That Feeds. It is a horror flick that filmed in Lincoln Park recently. It made its big debut in Duluth earlier this year and looks pretty scary.
