As promised here is the top three quarterbacks to ever throw on the that purple and gold jersey. One of my qualifications for this list would be for the quarterback to lead the Vikings to a Super Bowl win, but you do not need a college education to understand that the Vikings are 0-4 in the Super Bowl. Yet instead of rings, I will take certain things like stats, records, and awards into consideration. When you put all of these things together you get these three individuals who stand out, and no Donovan McNabb is not in this list.

    Randall Cunningham/Brett Favre

    QB-1997-1999/ QB 2009-2011

You are probably saying what? Hear me out; the reason why these two are tied is because if you put into consideration what they did during their brief stints with Vikings then you will understand why they are both number 3. First Cunningham, in his three years here he brought us to three play-off appearances, and not to mention 15-1 record in 1998. Cunningham only made the Pro-Bowl in 1998 with the Vikings, but that 1998 season was magical, he set a NFL record of 106.0 Passer rating, and then set a then-NFL record of 556 points in a season, until the 2007 New England Patriots broke that record. Cunningham could of became the best quarterback ever in Minnesota Vikings history...Just only if that(guy-who-should-not-be-named) connected on that field goal. Now lets introduce Mr Brett Favre. I know you, and I are getting sick of all this Favre talk, but lets go back to 2009. No one was better then Favre, he said all the right words, he made us fall in love with him, and just when we were about to fully forgive him for what he did to us when he was a Green Bay Packer; he ripped our hearts right from out chest, and made us relieve 1998 all over again. Yet Favre took a team who looked ugly the years before; and made them into what some say the best NFL team in 2009, just to bad we do not have a little silver football shaped trophy to show for it.

    Daunte Culpepper

    QB 1999-2005

Okay lets stop with the "love boat jokes". Culpepper was a great quarterback for the Vikings. brought us to two play-off appearances, and not to mention a NFC Championship game in 2000, but hear me out or maybe I should just spew some "stuff" for you to understand my point of view. Culpepper was a Pro Bowler in 2000, 2003, 2004, All Pro 2000, 2004, Korey Stringer Good Guy Award 2003, 2004, Ed Block Courage Award 2001, Best Breakthrough Athlete ESPY Award 2001. Those awards are not just handed out like candy. You need to earn them. Culpepper enjoyed his best statistical season as a professional in 2004 and, though they were only 8-8, the Vikings reached the play-offs for the second time with Culpepper. Passing for a league-leading 4,717 yards, a Viking-record 39 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions. Culpepper also broke Dan Marino's NFL record for combined passing and rushing yards, amassing 5,123 total yards. His 2,323 rushing yards from 2000-2004 also made him only the fourth quarterback in NFL history to run for more than 2,300 yards in a five-season period.

    Fran Tarkenton

    QB 1961-1966, 1972-1978

Okay this one was a no brainier...What? someone else deserved this? No one in Vikings History has thrown for more yards, or Touchdowns then Tarkenton, also even though he lost these games he has taken the Vikings to three Super Bowl appearances. Hands down Tarkenton is the best QB to ever call Minnesota home. Pro Bowler 1964(*Pro Bowl MVP), 1966, 1974, 1975, 1976. Two-time First team All-Pro 1973, 1975. Tarkenton was the NFL MVP in 1975, and the NFL Offensive Player of the Year that year. Not convinced? here are two other numbers to consider. Holds the Vikings career Passing Yards with 33,098, and has thrown for 239 TD as a Viking. The next closest to either of those number is Tommy Kramer who has thrown for 24,775 yards and 159 Touchdowns. No comeback? That is what I thought because no other quarterback has ever put up these kind of numbers while wearing a Viking jersey.
