As the Minnesota Twins continue to whittle down the roster before the April 6 opener in Baltimore, two more players were optioned to Triple-A Rochester. Right-handed pitcher Jeff Manship and outfielder Joe Benson were the players on the move earlier today (March 27).

Manship is entering his fourth year with the Twins, who has been on and off the Big League roster through this time; posting a 3-2 record with a 5.63 ERA in 29 games.

Benson was a 2006 draft pick for Minnesota, making his Major League debut last season .239 (17-for-71) in 21 games.

The Twins roster currently has 34 players at camp. Among them are 16 pitchers, 9 infielders, 5 outfielders, and 4 catchers. Their season opener is in Baltimore Friday, April 6 against the Orioles. The team's home opener is Monday, April 9, with the Angels coming into town.
