It's been an emotional week for the Minnesota Timberwolves since the death of their leader Flip Saunders.  Ready or not, their season got underway in Los Angeles against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.  Flip would have been proud of his young team.

After falling behind by as many as 15 points, they didn't give up. The Timberwolves kept chipping away behind Ricky Rubio's 28 points and after a last second Lakers shot bounced off the rim, they found themselves the winners of a gritty effort.

Here is the ESPN report on the victory.
