Some love it, some don't, but we've had our fair share of temperatures in the mid-upper 80s and even into the 90s in the Twin Ports area this summer. If you're someone that prefers temperatures a little cooler, you're going to love next week's forecast.

The Twin Cities National Weather Service office shared an extended temperature outlook for the week of August 21-25 on Facebook, showing that most of the Midwest is seeing a favorable chance of below normal temperatures in that time span. Looking at the local forecast for next week, it might not be quite that cool, but it will be cooler than it has been lately.

To clarify, we're not talking about daytime sweater weather here, but it will be comfortably cooler through the week if this forecast holds true. For reference, "average" daytime high temperatures for next week are in the mid 70's. After we get past mid 80s on Sunday, it looks like we'll actually be near "average" daytime highs according to historical norms. Monday's projected high is in the upper 60's (which is cooler than average), but temperatures moderate Tuesday into the mid 70's through next weekend. Wednesday does look to be the warmest day of the week, peaking out near 80.

With those cooler temperatures though is also coming the chance of rain. Rain chances for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are persistent, with the greatest rain chances currently looking to head our way on Monday and Friday.

Whether you're a fan of the heat or not, embrace it as best you can. We're only weeks away from the unofficial start of fall, and we all know what comes after that ;) .
